About Us

Welcome to Bloomfield Academy

At Bloomfield Academy, we empower all our students to become the best version of themselves. We cultivate an environment where children grow into empathetic, self-driven, critical thinkers who persevere when faced with challenges.

Our Vision

Bloomfield Academy nurtures children to make a Godly impact and become compassionate leaders in their communities.

Our Mission

As a Christian school, Bloomfield Academy blends biblical principles with modern scholarship to nurture learners who excel through God’s wisdom, in partnership with their parents.

Our Values

Bloomfield Academy upholds core values of Godliness, Integrity, Respect, Discipline, Love, and Excellence in all aspects of education.

Our history

Bloomfield Academy opened its doors to the public on Monday, September 27, 2004, with just sixteen pupils. Founded by Mrs. Adunola Akinyemiju, who is passionate about raising Godly children, the school was established to reach learners from the ‘cradle,’ recognizing that primary education is fundamental to success in any nation. Additionally, parents of students in the high school, who had witnessed the school’s success, sought a primary education that aligns with biblical teachings for their children.

Our philosophy

At Bloomfield Academy, we embrace the Nigerian philosophy of education, and as Christian educators, we believe that all truth is found in God and revealed in the Bible. We intentionally integrate a biblical worldview into academic learning and discipline, recognizing that Godly character and intellectual education are intertwined. Our teachers and staff serve as living curricula, embodying both intellectual and biblical principles through ongoing training, learning, and prayer. We are committed to fostering a new generation of Nigerians through Christian education, affecting the spirit, soul, and body to prepare children with the mind of Christ.

Co-curricular activities

At Bloomfield Academy, we provide a diverse array of co-curricular activities that allow children to express their innate skills and acquired abilities through our ‘No Child Left Behind’ initiative. Every student is encouraged to join at least one club, with additional opportunities to participate in the choir.

Our clubs include Chess, Expressive Arts (Dance and Drama), Ballet, Orchestra, Reading, Creative Arts, Press and Literacy, and Photography. While swimming and certain contact sports are currently on hold due to the pandemic, we remain committed to fostering a well-rounded educational experience.

Curriculum

The school primarily follows the Nigerian Curriculum, supplemented with elements from the British curriculum. This approach provides students with a broad international perspective while ensuring they remain connected to their Nigerian heritage.

The subjects offered include Mathematics, English Language, Music, Physical Health Education, Christian Religious Studies, French Language, Yoruba Language, Social Studies, Robotics, ICT, Cultural and Creative Arts, and Basic Science and Technology, among others.
